📜 Terms of Service
The ground rules, kept short.
These are the terms for using 10Hearts and, if you choose to, subscribing to 10Hearts Plus. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers your data specifically.
Last updated: September 19, 2026
1. Accepting these terms
By creating a 10Hearts account or using the 10Hearts app or website (10hearts.com), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree with them, please don't use 10Hearts.
2. What 10Hearts is
10Hearts is a closed, positivity-only app for sending encouragement to friends using a curated library of pre-written messages, growing a personal "Meadow" through genuine ongoing contact with friends, and — for 10Hearts Plus subscribers — unlocking extra features described in the app. 10Hearts is operated by Jonas Thuresson, a sole proprietorship (enskild firma) based in Sweden.
3. Who can use 10Hearts
10Hearts is intended for users aged 16 and over. By using 10Hearts, you confirm you meet this age requirement. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 16, we'll close it.
4. Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account.
- Provide accurate information when you sign up, and keep it up to date.
- One account per person — 10Hearts is built around real, ongoing friendships, and duplicate or fake accounts undermine that.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.
5. Acceptable use
10Hearts only works if it stays a genuinely kind space. By using it, you agree not to:
- harass, impersonate, or attempt to intimidate another user;
- create multiple accounts to get around the daily hearts limit, seed-gifting limits, or any other feature of the app;
- attempt to access another user's account, or reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the app's normal operation;
- use 10Hearts for any commercial, promotional, or spam purpose it wasn't designed for;
- violate any applicable law while using 10Hearts.
We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or close an account that breaks these rules — see "Suspending or ending an account" below.
6. Content and ownership
The 10Hearts app, its name, logo, mascot, illustrated avatars, message library, and Meadow artwork belong to us and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Using 10Hearts doesn't give you ownership of any of it — just a personal, non-transferable right to use the app as intended.
Because messages are chosen from a pre-written library rather than freely typed, there's generally no user-authored content for you to own. Your account information (display name, chosen avatar, friend list) remains associated with your account as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. 10Hearts Plus subscriptions
- What it is: 10Hearts Plus is an optional, auto-renewing monthly subscription that unlocks extra features described in the app (for example, additional avatars, message effects, and Circle Garden).
- Price and billing: 10Hearts Plus costs $5.49 (or €5.49, depending on your region and store) per month. The exact price and billing period are also shown in the app and in the App Store / Google Play listing before you subscribe, since Apple and Google can apply their own local pricing and tax adjustments by country. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase and again at the start of each new billing period, unless you cancel first.
- Auto-renewal: your subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancelling: you can cancel any time through your Apple ID account settings (iOS) or the Google Play app (Android) — 10Hearts doesn't process payments directly and can't cancel a subscription on your behalf. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Plus access until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Price changes: if we change the price of 10Hearts Plus, we'll give you notice in advance as required by the App Store / Google Play, and the new price will only apply to your next renewal after you've had a chance to review it.
- Free trials: 10Hearts Plus does not currently offer a free trial. If we introduce one, its length and terms will be clearly shown before you start it.
- Refunds: because Apple and Google process the payment, refund requests for App Store or Google Play purchases are handled through Apple's or Google's own refund process, respectively — not directly by us. This is separate from your cancellation right described below.
8. Your right to cancel (EU/EEA/UK consumers)
If you're a consumer in the EU, EEA, or UK, you have a legal right to cancel a new 10Hearts Plus subscription within 14 days of subscribing, without giving a reason. Because 10Hearts Plus is an ongoing digital service rather than a one-off digital download, this right applies for the full 14 days even if you've already started using Plus features during that window — we don't ask you to waive it.
If you cancel during the 14-day period after already using Plus features, we may deduct a proportionate amount reflecting the value of what you used before you cancelled, in line with EU consumer law. To cancel within this window, use the App Store's or Google Play's own refund request process (since they process the payment), or contact us at the address below and we'll help point you the right way.
This 14-day right is separate from, and in addition to, your ability to simply turn off auto-renewal at any time as described in Section 7.
9. The tree-planting pledge
🌳
For every active 10Hearts Plus subscriber, we commit to donating $1 a month to tree-planting organizations, as described on our About page. This is a genuine ongoing commitment we intend to keep — and we post proof of these donations on our social channels — but it's a voluntary pledge about how we use our own revenue, not a contractual benefit exchanged for your subscription payment, and doesn't affect your rights under Sections 7 and 8 above.
10. Suspending or ending an account
You can stop using 10Hearts and delete your account at any time (Section 4). We may suspend or close an account that breaks Section 5 (Acceptable use) or these terms more generally, or if we're required to by law. Where reasonably possible, we'll tell you why. If you have an active 10Hearts Plus subscription, closing your account doesn't automatically cancel billing through Apple/Google — cancel it separately through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.
11. Disclaimers
10Hearts is provided "as is." We work to keep it reliable and available, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times, and we're not responsible for issues caused by your device, your internet connection, or the App Store / Google Play platforms themselves.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, 10Hearts and Jonas Thuresson aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can't legally be limited, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or affects the statutory rights of consumers under Swedish or EU law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time, for example as we add new features. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and for material changes, we'll let you know inside the app or on this website before they take effect.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Swedish law. If you're a consumer resident in the EU or another country, you also keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer-protection rules of your own country that can't be overridden by agreement.
If you have a complaint we haven't been able to resolve directly (see "Contact us" below), EU consumers can find their national dispute-resolution body via the European Commission's consumer redress directory, and Swedish consumers can contact the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN). (The EU's old central "ODR" platform was discontinued in 2025 — the link above is its replacement.)
